Ruling On New Year Dancing

With New Year's Eve falling on a Sunday this year the Alberta Government has announced that enforcement policies governing public dancing and showing of motion pictures will be similar to those of 1950, the last year in which December 31 fell on a Sunday. Dancing in entertainment halls where dances are held is not prohibited after midnight Sunday December 31, 1961.

There will be no relaxation of the regulations prohibiting dancing prior to midnight on Sunday December 31. There will be no objection to dance halls and theatres and other places of amusement opening prior to midnight usually for the serving of supper or for the providing of entertainment, other than dancing or the exhibition of motion pictures.
